Michael Molfetta is a renowned litigation attorney who has been practicing for almost 30 years. He has been lead counsel in more than 300 jury trials. He has represented individuals and multinational corporations in both State and Federal Court. Mr. Molfetta also has extensive experience representing clients involved in complex criminal cases and “high profile” clients.


Mr. Molfetta has represented numerous client’s, both individuals and corporations, who have been charged with crimes. Loan Fraud, SEC Violations, allegations involving the sale of securities without a license, Investor Fraud, to name a few areas.


Mr. Molfetta has handled over 100 “special circumstances” homicide cases where the “death penalty” was potentially being sought by the prosecution. He has appeared as a legal expert and also as a legal correspondent on every major network and was a regular on ABC’s World News Tonight, and ABC News Magazines. He was a legal analyst during the prosecution of Kobe Bryant, Michael Jackson, and Scott Peterson. He has also appeared on Larry King Live, Nancy Grace, Dateline, 20/20, and Geraldo Rivera to name a few. He has co-written several television scripts as well and was at one time represented by The William Morris Agency.


Michael Molfetta is a member of the California Bar and received his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School in 1990. Mr. Molfetta received his B.A. from Occidental College in 1986. Mr. Molfetta played professional football in Europe prior to a 15 year career playing international rugby.

Margaret Mawhinney joins Molfetta Law after a successful stint working at Oracle. Margaret was a business development consultant working specifically with front office, customer facing, cloud-based applications. During her time at oracle she was the #1 representative in the entire Santa Monica office. Upon leaving Oracle, Margaret became a partner with Innovare/Fancon INC. Where she works directly with the development of a dual platform fan appreciation and talent evaluation web based to allow teams’ fans constant interaction with their favorite teams and each other.


Margaret also assists with the development and sale of FON (Faces on Numbers) which is a software designed to allow fans to upload their “selfies” on to their favorite players’ game jerseys.


In addition to her extensive work in software—Margaret is currently the Director of Client Services for Invictus Sports Management. She is one of the 3 founding partners in the agency, which represents male and female soccer players in the United States, Europe and South America; as well as professional baseball players within the United States. Invictus is also involved in the sale of professional soccer teams throughout Europe. Invictus is also involved in the transition of the team from the former owner to the new owner or ownership group.


Margaret’s strong love for sports led to a successful career as a Division I lacrosse player at the University of Southern California, where she also received a degree in Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business.


Margaret will be attending law school in the fall and will continue to assist Michael Molfetta on all civil and criminal cases.
